Getting your backyard summer-ready

    It’s Texas.

That means summer weather – we can start preparing for yesterday.

Are you ready for summer? How about your backyard? Us, either.

Here are a few DIY tips to spruce up your backyard – yourself! – and get ready for those hot summer days and pool parties.

    A daybed

A daybed is a great addition to your patio. Guests love them, and it gives the backyard an inviting, stay-a-while feel. As a plus for you, your outside area will be relaxing just like the inside is.

    A backyard bar

You heard us right. A backyard bar?! This can be whatever you want it to be. Check out the picture above. This shows a simple double shelf above a countertop and set of bar stools. This would work great with a covered patio.

    An outdoor dining area

An outdoor dining area is a great addition – and selling point! – for your home. Plus, the DIY could be relatively simple. All that’s really required is finishing your outdoor furniture to be outdoor-ready. You’ll probably want to purchase some great outdoor dishes, and just like that, you’re ready to host those summer parties!

    Grill storage

Most people have a grill in their backyard. Home Depot’s great idea was to create a storage system along the fence for your grilling tools, cooking sprays and seasonings, and a few measuring tools. Plus, the entire system closes and stays covered when not in use.

    A fire pit

A fire pit is a great idea for Texas summers. Family and friends love to gather around the fire and roast marshmallows and tell stories. Something about fire brings people together! Check out our Pinterest board for really easy DIY’s on this one.

    Underwater pool chairs

If all else – put some great pool chairs in a lounge area in the pool. In Texas, you’ll love being able to relax in the pool and lounge at the same time!
